This year marks the 25th anniversary of Lollapalooza, one of the world’s most unique and successful music festivals. The brainchild of Jane’s Addiction lead singer Perry Farrell, the ongoing outdoors concert fuses alternative rock with heavy metal, punk, and EDM. And while each year we’re delivered exceptional lineups, this year just might take the cake. The list of acts was announced just hours ago and are already turning heads. Confirmed for the headliners are Radiohead, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and LCD Soundsystem, along with numerous notable acts including Lana Del Rey, Ellie Goulding, and Major Lazer. Farrell’s own band is also among the elite list of artists performing and will appear towards the end of the festival’s third night.

Aside from catching blockbuster acts, Lollapalooza is also about discovering new and emerging artists. Among them are newcomers Mr. Carmack, Wolf Alice, and The Struts. While many alt rock bands are well and present this year, we see an increase in hip hop and EDM artists as well. Notably, Zhu, Grimes, Illenium, and Skepta. More diversity comes in the form of soul singer Leon Bridges, OutKast’s Big Boi, and dance-pop duo Disclosure.
