On Friday (February 22nd), Mike Shinoda released two new songs in anticipation for his upcoming European tour.

The tracks, titled “Prove You Wrong” and “What the Words Meant,” will be featured on the deluxe edition of the Linkin Park vocalist and rapper’s 2018 debut solo album Post Traumatic. On the former song, Shinoda sing-raps over a stomping beat as he contemplates overcoming the doubters and obstacles blocking his path. “I’m sick of being patient/ Underestimated/ This will be the day that I/ Prove you wrong,” he recites on the song’s charging final chorus.

“What the Words Meant” is a more solemn affair, which finds the Los Angeles native questioning and confused as he sings introspectively over a skittering electronic soundscape a la Reanimation. Shinoda originally released Post Traumatic via Warner Bros. Records in June, seemingly as an effort to work through his grief in the wake of Chester Bennington’s suicide in July 2017.
