Linkin Park‘s Chester Bennington and singer Kiiara confront their alter-egos in the intense new video for their collaboration “Heavy.”

The aggressive video for the first single off of the band’s upcoming album, One More Light stars Bennington and the track’s “Gold” guest vocalist, Kiiara, as a pair who are fighting through rough times in a recovery program both with themselves and each other.

The lyrics, “Holding on / To so much more than I can carry / I keep dragging around what’s bringing me down / If I just let go, I’d be set free / Holding on / Why is everything so heavy?” suggest that the problem may be more between Bennington and Kiiara and with their inner demons than with their respective drug (or other?) problems.

The video culminates with Bennington having a Fight Clubesque battle with himself in a bathroom.

In an interview, Bennington said about all the destruction in the video, “It was more violent and more intense making this video than any other video.”

Watch out for Linkin Park’s forthcoming, One More Light, which drops on May 19. The album marks the group’s seventh studio LP and first since 2014’s The Hunting Party.
