Almost overshadowed by many other happenings in the music world this week, as well as the lasting impression from his 2018 return Tha Carter V, Lil Wayne has dropped a new album titled Funeral.

The 24-track, Young Money Records-released project that was shrouded in secrecy is a study in Rap music as the New Orleans native jumps from one era or sub-genre to another, switching his flow up all along the way. The emotions also swing from being boasty on “Mahogany” to dark and sinister on the XXXTentacion-assisted “Get Outta My Head.”

Of the two dozen recordings, there are only a handful of collaborations, notably with 2 Chainz, Adam Levine, Takeoff, Jay Rock, Big Sean and more. Each artist brings a different flavor to each track, making the collection truly eclectic. Listen to the latest from Lil Wayne in the form of Funeral, below.
