In the wake of President Donald Trump‘s announcement via Twitter to reinstate a ban on transgender people openly serving in the U.S. military, the majority of the music community reacted strongly to the news.
Trump tweeted Wednesday morning (July 26), “After consultation with my Generals and military experts, please be advised that the United States Government will not accept or allow…… Transgender individuals to serve in any capacity in the U.S. Military. Our military must be focused on decisive and overwhelming….. victory and cannot be burdened with the tremendous medical costs and disruption that transgender in the military would entail. Thank you.”
The message you have just sent has endangered the lives of people all over the United States and overseas bravely serving our nation @POTUS

i don't think we have fully accepted that the president of the united states is actually a sociopath, and is incapable of empathy.

While tweets are great to show support, we need those with influence to put real pressure on lawmakers for this ban to once again be overturned.
