Giving fans the first official behind-the-scenes look at of her new film, House of Gucci, Lady Gaga posted a photo of her and fellow co-star Adam Driver.
Thanks to the retro outfits worn by the singer and her male lead counterpart, who play Patrizia Reggiani and her fashion mogul ex-husband Maurizio Gucci, respectively, the photo captured the imagination if social media enthusiasts. Wearing a white fur hat, and draped in gold jewelry, Gaga casts a striking resemblance to the Italian socialite while Driver is pictured in a cream white cable knit sweater and oversized glasses, with a white jacket tied around his waist.
Fans and artists around made jokes and derivative memes from the picture, with some superimposing the couple onto “Star Wars” backgrounds and, of course, incorporating an image of Bernie Sanders in his inauguration mittens.
Gaga’s last major movie role was in A Star Is Born, which won her an Academy Award for best original song and a nomination for the best actress Oscar. Set for November release the production is being filmed in Italy and also stars Al Pacino, Jeremy Irons and Jared Leto.
