As a way to celebrate the superstar pop singer’s recent Chromatica album, the cookie company decided to launch some unique pink and green snacks. Working with Gaga’s team, Oreo created a rollout of four distinct cookie designs, a release campaign they “treated like a shoe drop” as the company become an official sponsor of Gaga’s Born This Way Foundation.
No stranger to thinking outside the box when it comes to unique marketing ideas (i.e. 2019’s “Game of Thrones” cookies), Oreo thought of the collaborative Lady G treat during the pandemic. “After the lockdown, the world was in dire need of playfulness and a release from all of the stress and anxiety,” Oreo senior director Justin Parnell said. “It was like, ‘What if we really leaned into music as a way to connect to people and spread more positivity?’”
Since the sweets release, Gaga fans have been going goo goo over the product, posting videos of themselves buying the packages. Available in the U.S. for a limited time only, the brightly packaged product can be found at such retailers as Amazon, Target, Walmart.
