Reaching #1* on Billboard’s Hot 100 in 1979 – “Hot Stuff” was one of Summer’s biggest all time singles and it seems only fitting that the Norwegian deejay/producer/artist wünderkind would wave his magic wand over the former Casablanca classic originally produced by Pete Bellotte and Giorgio Moroder. Initially considered a 70’s “Rock” record, given its powerful percussion and raw guitar, Kygo’s contemporary revamp takes it to a new level by replacing the electric strings with blazing synths and intermittent vocals.
Born Kyrre Gorvell-Dahll, Kygo’s take on the RCA Records-released “Hot Stuff” follows his Tina Turner and immensely successful Whitney Houston reworks of “What’s Love Got to Do with It” and “Higher Love” respectively.
Listen and watch the stellar Kygo x Donna video performance that follows the course of two lovers.
