Last weekend Kanye West took over Joel Osteen‘s Lakewood Church in Houston to perform a very special Sunday Service. While the event was a big deal for many it was also met with some criticism as no one could’ve foretold what Yeezy played that day.
The JESUS IS KING producer pulled out all the stops for the service, including his popular 2004 hit “Jesus Walks,” plus, several church-themed selections from his most recent album. Kanye also surprised the congregation with renditions of SWV’s “Weak” and Destiny’s Child’s “Say My Name,” (which was changed to “Call His Name” for the sake of Sunday Service), both remixed by his own choir.
What was not expected, however, came in the form of house music, with a gospel twist. Regardless of anyone’s stance on the Chicago native or his Sunday Service, many can appreciate this four on the floor action. Check out a clip of the performance below.
