Justin Timberlake is releasing a documentary of his year-long 20/20 Experience World Tour on Netflix.
Titled Justin Timberlake + The Tennessee Kids, the film is directed by Academy Award winner Jonathan Demme, whose resume includes Silence of the Lambs and Philadelphia.
However, this isn’t the first time Demme has directed a concert documentary. In the past he’s worked with both the Talking Heads and Neil Young on similar projects. Nor is this the first time Netflix has released a touring documentary. This past summer artists such as Steve Aoki have also put out similar documentaries as well.
The documentary follows JT through his world tour as we get a sneak beak at the touring life. The film primarily focuses on the events leading up to the last stop on 20/20 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Viewers also get to experience what it’s like backstage at one of his concerts along with all the work that goes into putting on such a major production.
Just Timberlake + The Tennessee Kids will premier at the Toronto Film Festival next week and will be available on Netflix October 12. Check out the teaser below.
