Justin Bieber showed a ton of love for fellow Canadian artist Drake on Instagram calling the artist “more than a rapper, a culture shifter and legend.”

Bieber also called the More Life rapper the “best of our generation,” just before Drake took the stage to host the inaugural 2017 NBA Awards in New York City.

Though the two haven’t collaborated directly on a track since 2012’s “Right Here,” the two high-profile stars share more in common than Canadian heritage. They have consistently crossed paths whether it is on the Billboard Hot 100 charts, hanging out at industry events or being featured on the same album as they are both on DJ Khaled’s Grateful.

Justin is just showing some love, possibly to up his own public image after he was involved in controversy following Spotify’s cringe-worthy ad declaring him a “Latin King” following his appearance on “Despacito.” Refocusing on Drake though, the Canadian rapper’s influence is hard to escape in the music world and is definitely worth the recognition he got from Justin Bieber.
