The show that watched a family deal with the struggles of heading a record label is grappling with the idea of keeping continuity throughout its last installment. “It would be weird in my mind to end this family show and this family drama of which he was such a significant part of without seeing him,” Showrunner Brett Mahoney told TVLine. “It’s fair to say it’s being discussed, but there’s no plan as of yet to bring him back. There’s been no decision made.”

After most of the story did not add up, and Chicago police could not corroborate any of the claims, they pursued Smollett to recoup the funds they spent on trying to find the elusive alleged perpetrators. The entire situation garnered a massive amount of blow back in the media, sullying Jussie’s name and his career.
