Jay, who collaborated with Linkin Park on the “Collision Course” EP performed their “Numb/Encore” mashup as a tribute to the late singer.

The rapper behind 4:44 asked the crowd “Can you guys light it up tonight for Chester?” at Hylands Park. “Linkin Park, one time — tonight. Please make some noise so he can hear you all the way in heaven tonight!”

The performance marked the first time the rapper played that rendition of “Encore” from his The Black Album since 2011. The V Festival set was also Jay-Z’s first full performance of 2017 and came one day before the one-month anniversary of Bennington’s July 20th death.

For those who grew up listening to this collaboration, Jay-Z’s gesture to Chester Bennington is a powerful one. Watch the whole song performance below.
