When it was first announced that multi-Grammy Award-winning artist Billie Eilish would be providing the title track for the newest James Bond song “No Time To Die,” some were skeptical, but now that it’s here, the haters have been silenced, and fans are pleasantly surprised.
Starting off the recording with her robust lullaby voice, the 18-year-old floats atop the ambient production singing “We were a pair/ But I saw you there/ Too much to bear/ You were my life, but life is far away from fair/ Was I stupid to love you?/ Was I reckless to help?/ Was it obvious to everybody else?” Both aspects come together to create a dreamy, yet powerful offering that perfectly embodies the spirit of the James Bond franchise while also foreshadowing what’s to come in the new film.
Toward the end of the Interscope Records-released song, all pieces of the puzzle arrange themselves in a terrific crescendo reminiscent of multiple past theme songs by the likes of Sam Smith, Adele and more. Listen to Billie Eilish’s “No Time To Die” here.
