While many artists are selling their guitars, drums and other pieces of equipment and memorabilia for good causes during this time, Grimes glides off the beaten path by putting her soul up for grabs.

In an upcoming show titled Selling Out the pop star, who happens to have a child with tech visionary Elon Musk, plans on auctioning off drawings, prints, photographs, and other works of art she’s made over the past 10 years. According to Bloomberg the main attraction is described as “a legal document whereby the purchaser acquires a percentage of Grimes’s soul.”

“I didn’t want anyone to buy it, so I said we should just make it $10 million and then it probably won’t sell” she said. After enlisting her lawyer to draft a contract for the transaction, the singer noted “the deeper we got with it, the more philosophically interesting it became…. Also, I really wanted to collaborate with my lawyer on art. The idea of fantastical art in the form of legal documents just seems very intriguing to me.”

Originally set at a hefty $10 million price tag, a portion of Grimes’s soul will go to the person with the “best offer” leaving it up to the public to decide her worth. Stay tuned for the outcome of this odd situation and what it means to sell one’s soul in 2020.
