France’s king of darkness Gesaffelstein takes another step toward American pop music with “Blast Off”, his brand new collaboration with Pharrell Williams, courtesy of Sony Music

The follow-up to “Lost in the Fire“, the 31-year-old producer’s melding of minds with The Weeknd, features a brooding, metallic loop, brightened by a solid lyric line from the Grammy winning vocalist who turns the otherwise gritty tune into a fresh Disco experiment. The song serves as the third single from Gesaffelstein’s highly-anticipated forthcoming Hyperion full length.

Fans are quick to notice that the two aforementioned singers have previously worked with French production duo Daft Punk, from whom Gesaffelstein derives a good deal of inspiration. Like ‘Lost In The Fire” before it, “Blast Off” comes with another dark visual that purely pours over the glossy statue of the Techno savant, while the audio resembles a soundtrack.
