Fergie spared no detail while addressing her crystal meth abuse.
The singer, best known for her work with the Black Eyed Peas, admitted in a 2007 interview that she had talked to a hamper for eight hours while she was under the influence. She believed a person was inside the hamper.
While that may be interesting to the casual reader or drug user, she said, “The drugs thing, it was a hell of a lot of fun … until it wasn’t.”
“At my lowest point, I was [suffering from] chemically induced psychosis and dementia,” she said. “I was hallucinating on a daily basis. It took a year after getting off that drug for the chemicals in my brain to settle so that I stopped seeing things.”
She said that she actually believed that government organizations like the FBI and CIA were after her, “I remember thinking: ‘If I walk outside, and the SWAT team’s out there, I was right all along,” she said. “But if they’re not out there, then it’s the drugs making me see things and I’m going to end up in an institution.”
Thankfully, Fergie got help from the church, and now feels she has guardian angels who watch over her. Now she is back to making music and you can listen to her most recent release from Double Dutchess below.
