Ed Sheeran appeared on the Game of Thrones Season Seven premiere last night.
The songwriter appeared around a campfire with a crew of Lannisters, eating rabbit and crooning a new song.
Though his character claimed the song was “a new one,” it is actually unofficially titled “Hands of Gold,” and is taken directly from the Song of Ice and Fire books.
Sheeran celebrated the cameo on Instagram, posting a selfie with himself and Arya Stark actress Maisie Williams. But the overall fan reaction to the scene was mixed, as shown by the Instagram comments, which ranged from “Squad goals” to “I wanted u to die.”
This wasn’t the show’s first musician cameo – only its most high-profile. Members of Sigur Ros, Mastodon, Coldplay and Snow Patrol have previously appeared on the HBO fantasy series.
