Jon Landau, the movie’s producer, said that the 23-year-old Grammy-nominated singer “has the kick-ass strength, power and attitude in her performances that Alita embodies in the movie…. she will make ‘Swan Song’ the perfect inspiring and empowering anthem for our film.”

Lipa also expressed her excitement about co-writing for the production, saying “I see a little of myself in her, in both her badass spirit and our shared haircut. Alita is all about empowerment and standing up for who you are, which are two things that resonate with me.” See her announcement below.

The film will be released on February 14th, 2019, but “Swan Song” may come sooner. Stay tuned.
