After bragging that he has “more slaps than the Beatles,” Drake has officially reached the top as the Canadian rapper just broke the record for the most Top 10 Billboard Hot 100 hits of all time by one artist.
Previously tied with Madonna, the “One Dance” artist surpassed the female pop icon when he raked in his 39th and 40th Top 10 on the August 1st chart with his features on DJ Khaled tracks,”POPSTAR” and “GREECE.” Other songs that brought him to the peak of the Billboard pop chart include fan favorites “Hotline Bling,” “The Motto,” “Take Care,” “Going Bad” and many more that punctuated different periods over the last few years.
The latest chart feat places Drake in the conversation with legendary predecessors including The Beatles and Elvis Presley—both of which once reigned as acts with the most Top 10 accolades. Madonna unseated the British act from their nearly 34-year streak with her 35th Top 10 hit, “Die Another Day.” However, a major distinction is that Madonna still holds the title for most Top 10s in lead roles with 38 hits, beating out Drake, whose collaborative career releases have seen him post only 25 of his total 40 Top 10s as a lead.
