A representative of Donald Trump has claimed that the source of misogyny in the US is due to hip hop music.

Defending the recently leaked tape of a conversation Trump had while filming a segment with Access Hollywood, spokesperson Katrina Pierson puts down the genre for promoting immoral behavior. She takes a jab at Democrats for putting the Republican presidential candidate down while also promoting the genre.

“I find it quite rich that we have Democrats and the left talking about rape culture when they’re the ones backed fully by Hollywood. This rape culture is purported by none other than the entertainment industry, none other than hip-hop music, which you can hear on local radio.”

Pierson continues, claiming the lewd remarks that Trump made were nothing more than “locker room talk.”

“We are talking about a society who puts women on a pedestal because of a sex tape and then we have the audacity to claim that all of a sudden there’s this moral compass. This is something that Mr. Trump said, who he thought was in private, that came to light for crying out loud as he was a part of that hip-hop celebrity culture.”

“Misogyny isn’t a hip-hop problem,” she added, “it’s an American problem.” Watch the interview above.

Just a week later, a woman by the name of Kristin Anderson came out and spoke to the Washington Post about being groped by Trump in the 90s.
