If there’s anyone more invested in the return of Skrillex and Diplo‘s supergroup Jack Ü than the fans, it’s probably Diplo himself. The DJ/producer has been talking about or teasing the duo’s return ever since they went on a hiatus, but now there’s news coming from the Mad Decent head honcho himself.
In a recent interview with Rolling Stone as part of their 2020 Grammy coverage, Diplo took the opportunity to work in a bit about a possible reunion. “Could be next year. I think Skrillex has a lot of material he’s been gearing to release. When that happens I think we might be able to do some new stuff, but I’ve worked on a lot of ideas for the project. It’s all in due time. There’s not any rush for it or anything” he said.
The hint coincides with rumors that the “Bangarang” producer is readying new tunes, but between the two of them, it’s hard to believe what’s real and what’s fool’s play feeding into the hype. As Diplo himself said, there’s “not any rush for it,” so fans shouldn’t hold their breath in anticipation of a meet-up. Stay tuned for updates on Jack Ü’s comeback.
