2019 is already a big year for Diplo who’s already released an album with Labrinth and Sia (LSD), produced a new Mad Decent festival in Philadelphia, worked with Mark Ronson on Silk City, played multiple festivals and may be releasing a final album with Major Lazer.
Per the latter group, the trio has been touring festivals and working on new music, though some believe that member Jillionaire had left the group due to his scarce appearances on social media. The fears came along with another rumor that suggested he’d been replaced by fellow producer Ape Drums. In response, Diplo addressed the situation by saying “Jillionaire is always part of the team. Ape Drums is helping with production on some tracks (he’s done a few songs with us before) so he is going to tour with us as well… It’s like John Mayer joining the Grateful Dead.”
At press time, it’s still unclear how much of a role either artist will play in music creation and Summer touring but they all seem to be working in tandem toward the eclectic group’s final full length which is still to be announced. Until more news arrives, listen to Major Lazer’s most recent release courtesy of Mad Decent.
