Originally scheduled to take place on Sunday night, authorities say telephoned threats about a possible mass shooting prompted the cancellation of a Beast Coast show in suburban Detroit.

Macomb County Sheriff Anthony Wickersham said someone phoned in threats of a mass shooting at the outdoor concert venue and investigators are trying to determine who placed the calls. The threats came just over a week after similar attacks in Dayton, Ohio and El Paso, Texas. In response, many artists have spoken out, condemning the acts and supporting gun control. Khalid has gone so far as to support his home town by scheduling a benefit show on September 1st.

Off the back of their debut album Escape From New York, the 10-man Beast Coast debuted at #2 on Billboard’s Emerging Artists Chart in June. The hip-hop supergroup features members of Pro Era, Flatbush Zombies, and the Underachievers.
