Iman marked the one-year anniversary of husband David Bowie’s death today (Jan. 10) with a photo of a rainbow in New York City, where the couple resided.
Simply captioned “Jan 10th, 2016 NYC,” along with #BowieForever hashtags, the picture sees a large rainbow projecting over the city skyline.
The skyline photo follows a weekend of tributes to Bowie, including a drawing of him as a child and another candid snap of the pair together on a beach. Bowie’s birthday is on Jan. 8. He would have been 70.
The iconic musician died just two days after his 69th birthday, having kept his cancer hidden from everyone except his family and closest collaborators. Bowie had only just released his 25th album, Blackstar, which came to be seen as his “parting gift” to fans, where he spoke about illness, death and heaven.
Iman spoke publicly for the first time about her husbands passing this past September. “It’s been a tough year, but I’m holding up,” she told Good Morning America’s Joe Zee at a Tom Ford show during New York’s Fashion Week, her first night out since Bowie’s death. The model also revealed a gold necklace designed by Hedi Slimane, which simply reads “David.” “I’m wearing this until my death,” she told GMA.
