While the French duo, Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo, didn’t technically break out until their second album, Discovery – Homework celebrates the project’s early roots as their first major release, 23 years old this week.
Unveiled on January 20th, 1997 via Virgin Records and Soma Quality Recordings, the full length showcased Daft Punk in their most raw form, prior to their ascension to super-stardom. So raw, in fact, that the musical duo hadn’t yet created their robot personas and existed only in their human forms. From then, the rest is history.
Featuring iconic tracks like “Da Funk,” “Oh Yeah,” and “Around The World.” Before there ever was “One More Time” and “Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger” and, of course, “Get Lucky”, listen below to Homework in its entirety.
