Ever wonder how Daft Punk and Pharrell Williams ended up collaborating on thier Grammy winning hit “Get Lucky”?

In a 2013 interview with The Creators Project, Pharrell mentions he first met the robotic duo at one of Madonna’s shin digs, and there he expressed sincere desire to work with them in any capacity. “If you just want me to play a tambourine, I’ll do it,” The Voice coach said.

What Pharrell didn’t know was that Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo were probably fans of his work as well.

Recently, German electro producer Boyz Noize shared an unreleased Daft Punk remix to N*E*R*D’s single “She Wants to Move” during a tribute mix to Thomas and Guy’s respective labels, Roulé & Crydamoure. “I found this unreleased remix,” Boys Noize says, “I have this white label but it never came out.”

The unearthed remix features a sophisticated disco house spin on Pharrell and N*E*R*D 2004 tune. A signature Daft Punk bass line and catchy chords are perfectly tailored to the original’s a cappella. While Boys Noize does not mention a date it was released, we assume it was well before the trifecta released “Get Lucky”. Listen below.
