Daddy Yankee kicked off 2019 with the release of “Con Calma” featuring Snow, an energetic, bilingual remake of the latter’s 1992 hit “Informer,” which became an instant global viral sensation.

On Wednesday night (June 12th), the official music video, directed by Marlon Peña, reached one billion views, becoming the Puerto Rican singer/rapper’s fourth clip to accomplish such a feat following “Despacito,” “Dura,” and “Shaky Shaky.” The overall effort was aided by a global dance sensation which saw fans sharing their own choreography for the Universal Music-released song or trying to emulate the visual’s actors.

“Only four months after the premiere of the video of ‘Con Calma,’ the song that has everyone dancing around the world, has surpassed 1 billion views on the YouTube platform,” Yankee shared on Instagram, also highlighting the times his track hit the No. 1 spots on the Billboard, iTunes, and Shazam charts among others. Another Latino artist to enter YouTube’s Billion Views Club this year is Pedro Capo, who with his reggae-infused Caribbean remix of “Calma” featuring Farruko, surpassed 1 billion in eight months.
