Coldplay paid tribute to iconic film legend Gene Wilder last night. The band gave an acoustic rendition of “Pure Imagination” at their concert in Denver, a song Wilder performed in his role in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory as the titular character. Wilder, who passed away at the age of 83, was best known for his comedic roles in such films as Blazing Saddles and Young Frankenstein.

Wilder performed “Pure Imagination” in one of the film’s most memorable scenes. In it, his character Willy Wonka shows the contest winners the candy factory for the first time. Additionally, the filmed scene was actually the first time any of the actors saw the factory, making their reactions genuine. Check out the original performance below.
