Coldplay frontman Chris Martin played a surprise benefit concert at NYC’s Mercury Lounge last night to benefit the Bowery Mission, an organization the helps the homeless and hungry.

Martin performed a few Coldplay essentials like “Fix You,” “Yellow” and “A Sky Full Of Stars,” but the majority of his set was comprised of covers.

He took on the Beatles’ “Yesterday,” Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah,” Prince’s “Purple Rain,” David Bowie’s “Life On Mars?” plus “White Christmas,” and cheery version of Drizzy Drake’s “Hotline Bling.”

In November, Martin announced that Coldplay will release new music in 2017.
