When Charli XCX dropped her critically acclaimed EP Pop 2 back in 2017, fans were perplexed when the final submission on the album was simply titled “Track 10.” Now, she is unveiling the definitive version of that song.
The new Warner Music-released single, “Blame It on Your Love,” is the fully-fleshed out and glittery rendition of “Track 10” that boasts the strong lyrics “I just wanna drink you up/Pour you in a silver cup/You know I like to party/But you know I love your body” over a bouncy and exciting production. Instead of saying “sorry,” visiting artist Lizzo insists that if her lover’s heart is broken, that’s their fault for falling for her. “I’m tryna catch millions, I ain’t tryna catch feelings,” she raps. Echoed vocals leading up to the EDM-like drop help to build excitement in this soon-to-be Summer smash.
The new song comes just after Charli announced her new one-day Pride music festival Go West Fest with her friend and collaborator Troye Sivan, featuring a lineup of LGBTQ stars like Carlie Hanson, Dorian Electra, Leland and more. Listen to “Blame It on Your Love” below.
