According to a new report by Forbes, The Chainsmokers‘ smash hit “Closer” is now the second most-played song of all time on the Swedish streaming platform. The mid tempo bop follows follows not too far behind Drake’s anthemic “One Dance,” which became the first song to hit one billion streams back in December.
“Closer” won three 2017 Billboard Music Awards last weekend – Top Hot 100 Song; Top Collaboration and Top Dance/Electronic Song. Overall, The Chainsmokers went into the ceremony leading all artists with 23 nominations.
Incredibly, “Closer” isn’t even a year old yet. The Halsey featured track was released in July of 2016, so it will soon celebrate its one-year anniversary, and what a busy year it has been for the extreme EDM duo.
