With the help of club-ready remixes from Eric Kupper, Pink Panda, David Guetta, DJ Kue and Sonny Fodera, the song has enjoyed a quick rise to the top.

The Columbia Records release has so far amassed a whopping 185,000,000 plays on Spotify alone while the official music video (featuring grainy backdrops and mirror balls as Harris and Smith sing and dance) has garnered more than 65,000,000 views on YouTube.

The song, which has been described as “a music match made in heaven,” also features up-and-coming lyricist Jessie Reyez, who interjects throughout the song in a back-and-forth manner with Smith as he asks, “Are you drunk enough not to judge what I’m doing?/Are you high enough to excuse that I’m ruined?” in the opening lines.

Smith’s lyrics and Harris’ expert production further play out in the sparkly and playful official video for this week’s #1* song “Promises” below.
