Following his critically acclaimed directorial debut on the coming-of-age comedy film Eighth Grade, Bo Burnham has been tapped as a contributor for songs in the upcoming Sesame Street film.

The project won’t be the actor/comedian’s first venture into songwriting, however, as he first gained attention in this medium by releasing musical comedy videos on YouTube, writing original songs that touched on satirical topics like white supremacy and religion. Shortly thereafter, Burnham launched his stand-up career, where he often fused original music into his routines. Check out a clip of the Massachusetts native’s performance below.

Slated to hit theaters on January 15, 2021, the movie follows Big Bird and the Sesame Street gang after they’re expelled from their neighborhood and set out to prove that Sesame Street really does exist. The Warner Bros. film will star Anne Hathaway and will be directed by Portlandia co-creator Jonathan Krisel.
