Two months after surprise-dropping her stunning visual album Lemonade, Beyoncé has shared its fourth track “Sorry” as a standalone video release.
The stark clip directed by Dikayl Rimmasch features Bey and a Yoruba-inspired painted squad taking over a strip pole equipped school bus and southern mansion. Tennis icon Serena Williams pops up for a cameo in one of its most buzzed about scenes, twerking alongside Queen B as she signs away her relationship seated on a regal throne.
“She told me that she just wants me to dance, like just be really free and just dance like nobody’s looking and go all out,” Williams said in a May interview about her cameo. “So that wasn’t easy in the beginning, but then it got easier. … I thought that particular song on the visual album was really a strong song, and it was also really fun at the same time.”
Beyoncé is currently on The Formation World Tour in support of Lemonade, which has gone platinum and sold 1.6 million copies worldwide since its April 23 premiere. Lemonade also marked the singer’s sixth No. 1 on both the Billboard 200 and Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.
