Since his career started picking up steam years ago Avicii‘s life has been under scrutiny and a forthcoming biography is meant to set the record straight.

Written by Prix Italia documentary, prize-winning journalist, Måns Mosesson,  the book intends to celebrate a “musical visionary whose sense of melody made him beloved all over the world” while shedding light on “the difficulties that Tim experienced.” The publication will inevitably be exciting and is set for a release sometime in 2020.

Born Tim Bergling, Avicii had discontinued performing in 2016 following a long struggle with drugs and alcohol due, in part, to a rigorous touring schedule. A year since he took his own life in Muscat, Oman, proceeds from book sales will go directly to the recently-established Tim Bergling Foundation, which, among other things, supports suicide prevention and mental health awareness initiatives.

In the short term, the remainder of the posthumous Avicii album, Tim, is due out this year and the lead single, “SOS” featuring Aloe Blacc, can be heard below.
