Ava Max has made giant leaps in recent weeks to land her song “So Am I” the #5* position on this current edition of the Billboard Dance Club Songs Top 50 chart.

As the follow-up to her previous #1*-charting single “Sweet But Psycho,” this Atlantic Records-released track continues the 25-year-old Wisconsin native’s message which sees her in unconventional situations and encouraging listeners to be themselves. This current effort features Ava singing “Do you ever feel like a misfit?/ Everything inside of you is dark and twisted/ Oh, but it’s OK to be different/ ‘Cause baby so am I” as she traverses the hallways of a high school – as seen in the official video. As the visual progresses, she comes out of her shell to reveal who she’s been the whole time.

Club culture support has come in the form of multiple remixes from the likes of top-shelf DJ/producers Deepend (aka Falco van den Aker and Robert “Bob” van Ratingen), Toby Green, and Steve Void, who all have put their expert touches on the original to make universally accepted dance renditions of the empowering “So Am I.” Listen to one of the fresh takes on this week’s #5* track below.
