On Thursday (March 7), pop singer/songwriter Ava Max released her latest single, “So Am I” along with the music video.
Hot off the heels of her worldwide breakout success “Sweet But Psycho,” that recently secured #1* Billboard Dance Club Songs chart status, the 25-year-old offers up a new bouncy, pop-heavy anthem that shows off her melodic vocals and storytelling abilities. The chorus sends a strong message about wading through the adolescent years with lyrics like “Do you ever feel like a misfit?/ Everything inside of you is dark and twisted/ Oh, but it’s OK to be different/ ‘Cause baby so am I.”
The Atlantic Records-released title comes complete with (her) new Britney Spears-esque video that matches the American artists vocal content and illustrates the Wisconsin-born musician’s declaration of individuality while prancing through high school. She loses layers of clothing as she comes out of her shell, all the while gaining the support of her classmates as the track progresses. Listen to and watch the clip for Ava Max’s most recent single “So Am I” below.
