After President Trump’s action to roll back bathroom protections for transgender students, Katy Perry, Sia, Josh Groban, America’s Got Talent’s Jackie Evancho, Lance Bass and other celebs took to Twitter on Wednesday (Feb. 22) to speak out against him.
The controversial move by Trump revoked the landmark guidance issued to public schools by the Obama administration that allowed transgender students to use bathrooms that correspond to their gender identity.
Though these artists and many more have voiced their opinions on what President Trump did, Evancho gave a specific #sisterlove shoutout to her 18-year-old trans sister, Juliet, who is currently involved in a lawsuit against her school district over the right to use the women’s room at school.

The controversial Secretary of Education, Betsy DeVos, made a surprising personal statement in support for protection of LGBT students saying “We have a responsibility to protect every student in America and ensure that they have the freedom to learn and thrive in a safe and trusted environment….This is not merely a federal mandate, but a moral obligation no individual, school, district or state can abdicate.”

Also speaking out against Trump were Blink-182’s Mark Hoppus, Christina Perri and Ashley Tisdale.
