With today (May 1st) marking the start of Mental Health Awareness Month, it is naturally at the forefront of the national conversation as many are dealing with isolation due to the Corona Virus pandemic. Artists, musicians and celebrities of all sorts are coming together via the #WeThriveInside initiative to help bring peace of mind to those most affected.

Specifically targeting youths, the Child Mind Institute has used the hashtag to collect a number of personalities to share their own struggles pertaining to mental health – sometimes starting when they were very young. Coming together are the likes of the Pussycat Dolls‘ Nicole Scherzinger, Michael Phelps, Mark Ronson, Kristen Bell and more, who offer stories of how they developed or discovered their differences, and how they dealt with or currently live with mental illnesses such as Anorexia, Panic Disorders, Anxiety, and ADHD.

While the CMI’s goal is to get through to younger persons affected by mental health issues, adults can also take notes on how to understand, and ultimately feel better about themselves during a time when many are stuck in their own minds. People can also take advantage of tailored resources or explore telehealth services for children and families.
