But the most noteworthy performances came from singers Ariana Grande and Halsey, both of whom sang show-stopping renditions of their respective singles “Dangerous Woman” and “Castle.” Grande had mentioned earlier last week she was working with composer “Jason Robert Brown” on a new version of the song.“He’s ridiculously talented. He gave me my first job in 13, the musical. This is a very special thing for me. It means a lot,” she says. Accompanied by Brown, the two paid tribute to Marilyn Monroe as the singer dazzling pink dress.
In addition, Halsey’s song “Castle” is off her album Badlands as well as the original soundtrack for the movie The Huntsman: Winter’s War. Her performing it at last night’s awards ceremony marks its television debut as well.
