Electronic producers know they’ve hit gold when they can strip away the big beats and heavy drops that result in a solid foundational melody. And Alison Wonderland has done just that.

The 32-year-old dance musician took her recent Universal Music-released single “Peace” and deconstructed it to create an acoustic rendition that will blow her fans away. In the video clip, the original track’s echoing beat layers and clap-stomp chorus are traded in for the artist, born Alexandra Sholler’s delicate yet powerful voice. The songs confessional lyrics are emphasized in this stripped-down version, with the original’s complex percussion swapped out for light guitar, keyboards and ample amounts of candlelight.

“This is a side of me I’ve always been too scared to show,” Alison wrote in a tweet about this acoustic edition. “Thank you to anyone who listens to my music. It allows me to take risks & evolve as an artist.” Watch the live video of “Peace” here.
