Alicia Keys performed a surprise set at the Roots Picnic this past weekend. The inaugural Manhattan event was billed as “A Loveletter To New York” and took place at Bryant Park with notable acts such as D’Angelo, John Mayer, and The Roots themselves. But fans were in for a total surprise when they saw the “In Common” singer billed between Nile Rodgers and Wu-Tang Clan.

Keys opened her show with her hit “Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart” before going into her classic “Unthinkable” and rounding out the set with “No One.” Her appearance made sense given her husband Swizz Beatz had played earlier that day. Check out some of the fan-filmed footage of the show.
