Adele was the big winner at last night’s 59th Annual Grammy Awards, winning gilded gramophones for Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album for 25 and Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Pop Solo Performance for “Hello.”

If you’re one of the many that felt Lemonade was the better album, you’re not alone: Adele herself used her Album of the Year acceptance speech to sing Beyoncé’s praises, going so far as to say she could not “possibly accept this award.”

During both acceptance speeches, she spoke directly to Beyoncé, telling her how much of an inspiration she is. During her tearful Album of the Year speech, Adele called Bey “the artist of my life” and said the award should have gone to Lemonade. Beyoncé, also teary-eyed, mouthed “I love you” at Adele. Check out the videos below.

After praising Bey, Adele broke her Grammy in two while on stage, which turned out to be an accident, rather than a gesture of solidarity as reported by Huffington Post. During post-show interviews, Adele continued discussing why she felt Beyoncé deserved to win saying “What the fuck does she have to do to win album of the year?”

“My album of the year was Lemonade, so a piece of me did die inside, as a Beyoncé fan,” she added. Watch below.
