Following his July 11th arrest in New York City, controversial rapper and Brooklyn native Tekashi 6ix9ine was finally granted $150,000 bail by a Manhattan judge on his third attempt to get off Rikers Island. It was a rude welcome home after coming back from a successful European tour.

As part of the bail stipulations, the rapper promised to surrender in Texas, where he’s wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant for a misdemeanor assault charge. The 22-year-old made his way to Harris County, Texas early this morning to turn himself in and to post bail in person.

The charge stems from an incident at the Galleria Mall in Houston last January where alleged victim, Santiago Albarran, claims 6ix9ine choked him after demanding that the teen delete a video he took of the “Gummo” artist. The misdemeanor assault charge carries a maximum sentence of one year.
